The hotel is conveniently located and provides a view to the sea.
The corridor smells incredible of fried food early in the morning. It is very noisy in the hotel and we heard people shouting late at night.

I recently had a really enjoyable stay at a hotel in Hai Phong. The first thing that impressed me was the value for money - I couldn't believe how affordable it was! The rooms were comfortable with nice views of the sea, and I especially loved waking up to the stunning scenery every morning. The breakfast included in the price was simple but satisfying, and it was a great way to start the day. The location was also perfect, right in the center of the city, making it convenient for exploring the area.
Everything was great, no complaints at all!

Rooms were a good size, adequate cleanliness etc. great views over the harbour and short work from restaurants. Mr Tuan organised a boat trip to halong bay for us and helped us organise the hydrofoil back to Haiphong.
Except Me Tuan, service was not given with a smile! On the first morning we went downstairs for breakfast, we were given the wrong menu and had to pay for extras when breakfast should have been included. After speaking to other travellers who paid less than $10 per night for their hotels, we felt the $20 per night we paid were a little excessive. Although the hotel was good, I would recommend finding a hotel when you arrive as there were many in the harbour front.

In the heart of Cat Ba town with great views- we were on the top floor. Room was huge with 4 beds ie 2 queen and 2 dbl. Great for a family. Mr Tuan will do anything he can to help you enjoy your stay. He organised our pick up from Hai Phong airport and transfer via hydrofoil and mini bus with some sight-seeing along the way. Next day he took us on his junk for a personalised tour of Halong Bay with Booked.neting and transfer to Halong city bus terminal.
Be sparing on the toilet paper as it will block the toilet if you are not careful.

Great location, close to ATM, Sea Pearl hotel, and Cat Ba Ventures tour company. Welcoming staff, clean rooms with AC and wifi. Reasonable price with good breakfast. Amazing sunset view from sea-facing rooms. Nice and cheap restaurant on the ground floor.
Nothing, everything was great.

They were very accommodating, providing a better room when it became available. Helpful in answering questions. Provided several things I was interested in: tours of park, motorbike rental. They stayed open and provided services which were hard to find due to so many hotels and restaurants, stores, etc...being closed.

The views from the front rooms of Duc Tuan Hotel overlooking Cat Ba were spectacular. This is a family business and the owners spoke little English but made every effort to communicate with us. They kindly allowed us to have one room till late in the afternoon so the members of our group who were rock climbing could shower before leaving. The ground floor is a restaurant and the lift starts on the second floor so you have to carry your bags up one flight of stairs. The beds were very firm. Bathrooms are wet rooms and it is a good idea to check the hot water is switched on.

the price was extremely reasonable, offering great value for money. The room I stayed in was clean and had a good view of the harbor. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. Additionally, the breakfast provided was delicious, and the views from the dining area were absolutely stunning.
My experience at this hotel was fantastic and I had no major complaints.

Good value, very close to bus stop, cheap bike hire.
Our room smelt very damp. The staff were not very friendly and adrupt when asked a question about bike hire. The breakfast was small.

The location was great for a stay in Cat Ba town. Mr. Tuan was very helpful with making arrangements for us to have laundry done, take a boat trip in Lan Ha and Ha Long bays, and to arrange our transportion back to Ha Noi. The view from our room was outstanding; absolutely worth paying a little extra. Overall, this was a great choice and extremely affordable.

The hotel's location is fantastic - situated on the main strip of town, overlooking the bay. It's easy to get to and from the airport, which is just a short distance away. the hotel is also in close proximity to many restaurants, bars, and the beach. the rooms offer stunning sea views, and the staff is very hospitable.
While some of the breakfast dishes may not be suitable for vegetarians, there were still plenty of other options available.

We loved the position overlooking the fishing boat harbour. The price was incredibly cheap for the very good standard of accommodation.

Very basic, a little old, but still very clean. Nice people running the space. Be careful when taking a Xe Om from the ferry, we actually got robbed there.
